Meet the Squad

CAP’N KB!
DC Cheer! captain and founder was a budding TV star in her youth starring opposite Ricki Shroeder in an episode of Silver Spoons. After an injury that left her actually more physically fit, she decided to ditch her acting career to focus on body movement in the form of cheer leading — using it as a tool to teach others how to love.

ADAM

Adam is an artist and gourmand with a penchant for penchants. When he’s not cheering, you can find him drawing pictures of unsuspecting customers at the Hay Adams hotel bar or trolling for truffles with his trusty pig, Wilbur, in Rock Creek Park.

JUDI

Judi is a community activist who is known best for her nationwide protest in the form of a cheer-in, against illegal ant farming. She passed down an invitation to cheer at George HW Bush’s inauguration because she didn’t like his tie color, and recently raised over $100,000 for Cheerleaders-Without-Borders by selling instructions to her secret cheer moves.

MANDEE

Mandee is a valuable asset to the DC Cheer! squad because of her ability to do the moonwalk on her hands! When not cheering, she scales walls of museums hanging art in ‘hard to reach’ places. She’s also a master at the ancient art of ju-jenga, and came in first place at a recent international competition which took place in Detroit.

Sparky is one of our lead choreographers. Coming to DC from Russia in the 80s, Sparky is a master of the rubik’s pyramid, as well as doing the cheer-bot which is a combination of high kicks and robo arms. He also coined the official DC Cheer! move called ‘one eyebrow raise’.  Yay, Sparky!

LISA

Lisa comes to us from  Beantown, USA where she was once known as a world champion cheerleader. Lisa began her career at the age of 4 despite having been born with two left feet and a faulty kinetic memory. Before coming to us, Lisa was the coach of the very famous Redskins Cheerleader cover squad,  The Redskinettes – a troupe that performed at local high schools in an effort to persuade them to use drugs.

BUCK
Buck is the star of our show- taking on most of the higher level flipping/rotation moves that take us to the nationals every year. Buck was once a court stenographer for the Supreme Court, but when he blew the whistle on one of the justices for sexting him during off hours, he was immediately fired, and subsequently poured all of his energy into cheering.

CHANAN
Chanan is the newest addition to the squad. When she’s not busy cheering, she’s hard at work opening her new animal-friendly restaurant where she actually feeds animals exclusively, and not people. They pay her in love and affection. She also gets them to pose for her annual calendar that she sells (to people) at the restaurant.More info, and to make a reservation for your favorite creature here>>
CAROLINA
Besides her role as a cheer-leader, Carolina is also the nutritional consultant for the team. With a PhD in Horticulture, she spent time in South America inventing her own breed of fruits that are pesticide resistant and utterly delicious! Find her on the sidelines making juices or selling fruit from her basket. She also uses the fruit pigments in a line of paints that are sold exclusively in DC outlets such as Edible-Paints-R-Us and Utrecht.
